Welcome to Christopher Newport University and the Liberal Learning Core Curriculum:

The words above succinctly describe the purpose of the Liberal Learning Core Curriculum at Christopher Newport University.  Beginning with the First Year Seminar and extending through the Liberal Learning Emphasis, you will learn many things, but more importantly you will learn to think critically.  While a student at CNU and after you graduate we want you to use your ability “to learn, to think” to make a difference, whether large or small.  We want you to take advantage of the varied and exciting offerings in the Liberal Learning Core Curriculum to expand your knowledge base and prepare yourself for all situations.
